Originally (as seen in older posts) the area of the closet and bath was formerly just two medium sized closets. I bumped out the walls and changed the proportions to accommodate one large closet and next to that a door leading into the bathroom shower area. A step down in the bathroom and you find yourself in the addition, what once was a large mud room but is now the sink vanity area and a small room for the toilet. While it's not a large master bath, I've made strides to keep the space comfortable and roomy for two. I used subway tile and laid it vertically to make the floor to ceiling area seem larger, also used white marble on the floor which helps the space to breathe and adds a beautiful touch. Having a separate room for the commode keeps the vanity section of the bath functional for another person to use. There is still a bit of work to do in there, paint, sink, fixtures, etc but it works and I have a 2nd full bath now.
