We've been busy

The sheds and the huge remaining mess are finally gone. There had been piles of lumber, cinderblocks, roofing, paneling, flooring... but now it is all finally cleared out. We love how open it is. The last shed standing is storage, but that too will go one day. The concrete and cinderblocks didn't go far, Andrew is building a second dam (of 3 total) to embellish the 'wetland'. What was an insignificant trickle is being made into a couple of sizable pools divided by grassy dams. Maddie spends a large part of each day searching for frogs in her new swimming holes. The improved landscape above will someday have a new tree or two added. We're thinking magnolia or willow. Speaking of trees, we have planted a fig. As well as strawberries, blueberries, black raspberries, basil, spinach, arugula, radishes and tomatoes. This is the first substantial garden for us, so fingers crossed. We worked hard planning, tilling, adding compost, digging again, and planting. If we can keep Bunny McNibbler out, we'll be all set.
