Ingredients

While we wait for summer vacation (a.k.a. Renovation Season) to begin, we've been drawing plans for the new bathroom, relocated kitchen, and reconfigured bedrooms. We decided that rather than redo the existing kitchen, we'd move it to what is currently our bedroom. We made this decision based largely on natural light among other things- something we discovered after living in the house for a while As Is. Allowing our plans to be shaped by the integral elements of the space has enabled us to make more informed design decisions.
We're chomping at the bit to see improvement indoors. In preparation for all this, we've acquired a nice collection of ingredients to be added to the new rooms. A double kitchen sink, a pedestal sink for the bathroom, and bar stools. There are several things that don't have a designated use yet. Sometimes I wish that I had the resources to buy all new house fixins and then I realize how much more interesting it is to create an original interior with what you've got. Especially when I stumble upon 86 discarded pieces of glass at the local recycling center. Half are square and half are rectangular. All are in great shape thanks to being wrapped in thick paper, not a single scratch or chip. Table tops? Shelves? Windows? We'll see. I wasn't the only one taking things OUT of the containers that day. My luck was much better than the woman who accidentally threw her keys in with her bottles and had to climb into the bin to dig them out. I'm not particularly spiritual, but there are times I know I am being watched over by Our Lady of Perpetual Thrift. Maybe that's what the psychic meant years ago when she told me I was a savior. Savior of Repurposed Goods...
